All of Our Puppy Training Services, Explained
We Love PUppies!
Fetch the Leash offers many different ways to help people raise behaviorally healthy puppies. We offer group classes, private training, day training, and socialization services. If you’re trying to decide which option is best for you, here are some recommendations based on your lifestyle, your puppy’s needs, and your ultimate training goal for your puppy!
—> Got time to train your puppy on your own? Take our veterinarian-recommended group classes!
—> Super busy & want a professional to jump-start your pup’s training? Drop your puppy off at Discover Burlington Puppy Camp.
—> Have high aspirations for your puppy? Get the professional jump-start and extra socialization boost while also providing consistent training at home. Discover Burlington Puppy Camp and our group class, Puppy Preschool, are the combination service that provide your puppy with the strongest foundation for success.
—> Got an older puppy (16 weeks or older)? Enroll in one of our Puppy Preschool catch-up options and then dive right into the usual puppy class track starting with Puppy Intermediate. Or, if you are short on time, enroll your puppy in our standard Day Training program for customized training and socialization.
group classes
If you want to be an active participant in your pup’s learning process, our group puppy classes are a great choice. Puppy Preschool is appropriate for puppies under 16 weeks at the start of class (pups just getting started who are already over 16 weeks have a couple of catch-up options).
Our group puppy classes cover all the important things you will need to know to raise a behaviorally healthy dog, including house training, biting, and socialization. Fetch the Leash puppies also learn to reliably respond to basic obedience cues. Puppies enrolled in any of our puppy classes are eligible to attend our in-person, drop-off socials for $10/social.

Day Training for Older Puppies
If you recently brought home a slightly older puppy (over 16 weeks) we are happy to help get your pup caught up on early training and socialization experiences. Your pup’s personal trainer will create a training program based on your dog’s current skills and your training goals.
Having a professional train your puppy directly saves time for you; drop Fido off for his lesson while you run errands downtown or grab a coffee and enjoy a puppy-free hour to yourself. And best of all he’ll be exhausted and ready for a nap when you get home! Each week you will get to meet virtually with your puppy’s trainer to go over what he’s been learning in school and how to maintain the new skills he’s mastered.

separation anxiety prevention & training
Puppies often have a hard time transitioning to being left alone. If your puppy is already crying inconsolably when you try and leave the house, we recommend starting alone-time training with our separation anxiety expert. If you haven’t left your pup home alone yet we can work with you to prevent anxiety by preparing your pup gradually for this eventual reality.

PUPPY SOCIALS
Our weekly puppy socials are purposely kept well-managed to protect the quality of experience your young puppy is getting. Play is closely monitored and managed by certified professional dog trainers who are experts on dog behavior and body language. Guardians are able to ask us questions about their puppy's play style and get advice on how to help their puppy.
We emphasize safe, careful, and fun exposure to other puppies and include some activities designed to help them build confidence. We work hard to guide puppies during play so that they build excellent social skills with a variety of other puppies, setting them up for a lifetime of success around other dogs!
Puppy socials are $10 per social and are open to our clients who are enrolled in group puppy classes, drop-off Puppy Camp program, or other training services with us. Our training center is kept clean with a veterinary-grade disinfectant to protect from the usual puppy diseases and we do require age-appropriate vaccines at least one week prior to the first social.
